A supplied developing report attributed to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says 184.5 kilograms of cocaine was found concealed in brown boxes at a courier facility in Lagos on Monday 3 August. The agency reportedly said the shipment was being exported by an international trafficking network using Nigeria as a transit hub.
The report says Afolabi Kazeem Michael, aged 49 and known as “KC Luxury” to approximately 700,000 Instagram followers, was detained at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos 10 days later as he prepared to board a business-class flight to Paris. The account describes him as someone who presented himself online as a businessman dealing in gold and luxury goods.
Officials reportedly allege that Mr. Michael was the Nigerian “arrowhead” of a cartel moving cocaine from South America through Nigeria to the United Kingdom, other parts of Europe, and Asia. Mr. Michael has not commented on those allegations, and the supplied account says he has not been charged in court.
The NDLEA reportedly said that, when he was detained, Mr. Michael was carrying more than $12,840 in euros, pounds, and naira, as well as expensive jewellery. The agency characterized those items as consistent with proceeds of illicit trade; that characterization remains an allegation attributed to the agency.
The report also identifies a second detained suspect, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, who is alleged to have been a staff member of a logistics company through which the cocaine was transported. The supplied material does not provide the full charge status or court outcome for Mr. Kehinde.
The wider investigation reportedly names two prominent Ghanaian nationals and two additional Nigerians. Their full names are not supplied in the report, and they are not identified here while the investigation is ongoing. Nigerian authorities are reportedly in contact with their Ghanaian counterparts concerning possible lawful action; being named in an investigation does not establish wrongdoing.
The NDLEA’s reported account says its operatives acted on credible intelligence that Mr. Michael intended to flee Nigeria. The agency’s statement and the reported seizure do not, by themselves, establish guilt. All allegations remain subject to investigation and court proceedings, and every named person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
