The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said Jeff Maiorca, 53, was arrested on 21 September 2026 in connection with the killing of his wife, Jill Maiorca. The department's notice says he was booked on suspicion of murder. KTVU reported on the arrest using information from that same-day release.

Jill Maiorca, then 29, was reported missing from Big Bear Lake in 2007. Human remains found in a crawlspace beneath a home on Forest Road in October 2020 were later identified as hers through additional DNA analysis. Authorities determined the manner of death was homicide and say evidence developed in the investigation indicates she was killed in November 2006.

The sheriff's department identified Jeff Maiorca as a suspect and said the investigation remains ongoing. Officials have not disclosed a motive. The arrest and murder allegation do not establish guilt, and no court outcome was reported in the cited sources.
