The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says an investigation led it to a suspected methamphetamine laboratory in Eziama, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State. NDLEA identified the two arrested men as Chukwu Obumneme Christopher and Chukwu Georginus Monday, according to a 24 September Daily Post report.

The agency alleged that the operation had a connection to a person based in Mexico City. It said two other people named in the charge remained at large at the time of its statement. These are allegations in a Nigeria-based investigation, not evidence of a separate Mexican arrest or prosecution.

Daily Post reported that the two arrested men were arraigned in the Federal High Court's Enugu division on a five-count charge relating to an alleged drug-trafficking organisation and unlawful possession of methamphetamine precursor chemicals. Their trial was scheduled for 21 October 2026. An arraignment does not establish guilt, and the cited report does not provide a later court outcome.
