The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida said Orlin Eli Gonzalez, 27, of Jacksonville was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity. The court also ordered 10 years of supervised release and sex-offender registration.

According to prosecutors, an FBI undercover agent posed online as a 13-year-old child during an operation from 28 August to 4 September 2025. Investigators said Gonzalez exchanged messages with the agent and arranged to meet the person he believed to be a child. FBI agents arrested him when he arrived at the agreed location on 4 September 2025. There was no actual child in this undercover exchange.

Gonzalez pleaded guilty on 17 June 2026. This is a conviction and sentence, not a new arrest on the publication date. The case was prosecuted as part of the Justice Department's Project Safe Childhood initiative.
