Atlanta Police Department had listed Jonathan Soto among its most-wanted fugitives in connection with the fatal shooting of Michael Gidewon at the Republic Lounge on Brady Avenue NW on 4 February 2023. Soto was sought in the homicide investigation; responsibility for the killing remains an allegation, not a court finding.
According to reporting that cites Atlanta police and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Atlanta's fugitive unit located Soto in Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team and federal partners apprehended him at an apartment complex on Gate Parkway North after officers said he did not leave the apartment voluntarily.
The 24 September report says Soto was held in the Duval County Jail on a fugitive warrant pending extradition to Georgia. That is his status at the time of the cited report, not a live custody check. Do not circulate his former wanted notice as if he were still at large. No conviction or final case outcome is reported.
