Crime Watch Global thanks the readers who sent information through its tip channels in March 2026. Crime Watch Global says the information was passed on, but we have not independently established that a reader tip directly caused this operation. The supplied report attributes the arrests to sustained intelligence gathering by Special Operations undercover operatives.

According to a supplied Graphic Online report citing Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission, NACOC officials and National Security operatives arrested Jibreel Hardi, 51, and his wife, Abiba Fatawu, 42, on Thursday, 3 September 2026, during an intelligence-led operation in Greater Accra.

NACOC reportedly said officers intercepted Mr. Hardi at about 11 a.m. in Weija, in the Ga South Municipality, while he was allegedly travelling to meet a buyer. A search of his vehicle reportedly uncovered large quantities of dried leaves wrapped in polythene and suspected to be cannabis, together with packets of Tramadol.

The supplied report says the team then searched Mr. Hardi’s residence and retrieved additional quantities of the suspected cannabis and Tramadol, as well as a firearm and 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The exact quantities and laboratory results for the suspected substances were not supplied.

NACOC reportedly described Ms. Fatawu as an alleged accomplice and collaborator during the surveillance and arrested her at the residence. Both named people were said to remain in NACOC custody while being processed for court and while the retrieved exhibits undergo forensic examination.

These are arrest and seizure allegations, not convictions. Jibreel Hardi and Abiba Fatawu are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Descriptions such as “drug dealer” or “pusher” remain allegations attributed to the supplied report, and any substance identification must be determined through forensic testing and the legal process.
