South African Police, working with the Border Management Authority, reportedly arrested a 52-year-old South African national after he arrived at OR Tambo International Airport on a flight from Accra.

Police said an intelligence-led search of his luggage uncovered bullet-shaped objects and blocks containing substances suspected to be heroin, with an estimated value of R2 million. The substances remain suspected drugs pending forensic confirmation.

The man was expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court on drug-trafficking-related charges. An arrest and charge are not a conviction, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
