What the record says

SABC reported on 22 September 2026 that police were investigating allegedly falsified documents used to acquire properties in Gauteng and an allegation concerning Eswatini citizenship documents. A later 23 September Eyewitness News court report identified Tsakane Matlala, Given Makofane and Claudette Masethe as three accused granted R20,000 bail each by the Pretoria Magistrates' Court; it listed Vusimuzi Matlala as accused number one. EWN described the Waterkloof property's rent as R95,000 per month, not a proven fraud loss. The court matter is separate from another case involving some of the accused. The initial SABC arrest count and the later court account should not be read as four new arrests on the same day. Bail is not a finding of guilt.
